The CHARM Farm Buildings - Structures - Fences - Property

There are many buildings and fences to be maintained at the Charm Farm. Currently, there are two barns, a large chicken coop, a brooder house and a maintenance bulding for poultry supplies, a large tack shop and other storage facilities to be maintained, as well as approximately 3 miles of fence. (The fences surround the property as well as divide it into sections.)

The first major project we need to tackle is re-covering the roof of the large livestock barn.
The roofing project requires:

28 Sheets of 29 ga steel roofing

4 rolls Ridge Roll

52 12' 1x4 strapping boards

5 rolls glazing tape (caulk/sealer)

1000 metal roofing screws with washers

50 lbs. 2" ardox nails

The total cost of this project is $1864.41
We have divided the entire cost of the project by 28 in order to get a "per sheet with incidentals" cost of $66.59 each.

We have acquired a chore tractor with a front end loader. A 1956 model 400 IHC gas tractor, to be used for making hay and general duty around the farm.

We are ALWAYS in need of bedding and feed. Wheat Straw is preferred for bedding. Virtually any hay can be used as we cater to a variety of animals.

Current Projects

We recently obtained over 100 acres of hay to cut and bale for winter feed. This should cover our needs for the year.

We need to haul in several truckloads of gravel for the floor of our steel quonset where we want to store our hay and equipment.

We have several hundred feet of corral to remove from a farm near us and rebuild here on The CHARM Farm.
