CHARM Farm - Chodove Animal Rescue and Maintenance

The CHARM Farm Fundraiser 2009

With harvest not being completed in many areas of the Province this year, much of the straw that would have been available to us is not even thrashed yet. We are still looking for another 30 - 50 large round bales of wheat straw (or other cereals) to help keep our rescued animals warm and dry this winter. Click here to help.

Posters are available for the public to print out and share around.

CHARM General Fundraiser PDF

The CHARM FarmFor the Month of October we held a fundraising drive. During this time we were able to secure enough funding to keep the gates open for a while longer yet.

Many have asked why we started this project. Having been raised on a smaller mixed farm, Greg had a true understanding of what taking care of livestock entailed. Paulette has been an animal lover her entire life. When they heard some of the horror stories they had no option other than to open the gates, so to speak. You can see the first part of our story in the article A Humble Beginning.

At present we have 12 rescued animals on premises and have been turning others away due to lack of funding. We could support and house another 12 - 50 animals (depending on species) if we had enough public support to feed them. We are more than happy to put forth the effort that it takes to care for these animals that so badly need help. We need your help to make sure we have the feed, bedding and other materials to do it right.

We are always accepting:

  • Good Quality Hay
  • Feed Oats
  • Bedding Straw
  • Feed Barley
  • Feed Wheat
  • Screenings

The 2009 year was bad for hay production. We expect an increase in demand for our services to really hit hard around January - March when people will start running out of feed to supply their stock.

We can house a good many more horses, Alpacas and other stock, however, we need public support to make it possible.

All donations are used for feeding and maintenance of the rescued animals. We do NOT profit from this venture.

Current Projects

We recently obtained over 100 acres of hay to cut and bale for winter feed. This should cover our needs for the year.

We need to haul in several truckloads of gravel for the floor of our steel quonset where we want to store our hay and equipment.

We have several hundred feet of corral to remove from a farm near us and rebuild here on The CHARM Farm.

We We currently have no planned fundraisers. Please use the Donate button to contribute.
